Kosmic Kids Books (“Kosmic Kids Books,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates kosmickidsbooks.com (the “Site”) and creates personalized children’s storybooks. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to this Policy.
Our service is intended for adults (18+). Accounts and orders are created by parents, guardians, or gift-givers. We collect information about a child only because you provide it so we can create a personalized book. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or purchase from us.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, and a hashed password.
- Child profile information: the child’s name, birth date, birth time, birth location (city, with latitude/longitude and time zone), birth weight, gender, and relationship to you. This information is used to calculate astrological signs and to personalize the story.
- Order and shipping information: shipping name and address, customer email, and phone number.
- Messages: anything you send us through our contact form or by email.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS-compliant systems. We receive limited information such as a payment confirmation, the last details needed to identify the transaction, and a receipt URL.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect limited technical and usage data (such as device/browser information and pages viewed) using cookies and analytics tools, including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4. This helps us understand how the Site is used and improve it.
How We Use Your Information
- To create, personalize, produce, and deliver your storybook.
- To calculate astrological signs (Sun, Moon, and Rising) from birth details.
- To process payments, fulfill orders, and arrange shipping.
- To communicate with you — order confirmations, shipping notifications with tracking, and responses to your messages.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and our service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Lulu — printing and fulfillment. We share the finalized book files and your shipping details so your order can be produced and shipped.
- Cloudflare R2 — secure storage of book images and PDFs.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Google Maps Platform — birth-location lookup and time-zone data.
- Google Analytics — usage analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).
Children’s Privacy
Our service is directed to adults, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about a child is provided by a parent, guardian, or other adult to create the personalized book. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, please contact us at kate@kosmickidsbooks.com and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our service, fulfill orders, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data (see “Your Rights” below).
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit or delete child profiles from your dashboard at any time, or contact us to exercise any of these rights. We will respond as required by applicable law.

International Visitors
We are based in the United States and process information there. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
