Refunds & Returns Policy

Every Kosmic Kids Books storybook is personalized and printed on demand specifically for your child. Because each book is custom-made and cannot be resold, this policy explains when an order can be cancelled and when you’re entitled to a replacement or refund. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

The short version: You can cancel for a full refund any time before your book is sent to printing. Once printing has begun, the order can’t be cancelled. Because books are personalized, we don’t accept change-of-mind returns — but if your book arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error, we’ll make it right with a free replacement or refund.

Cancellations

You may cancel your order for a full refund at any time before the book enters production (i.e., before the finalized files are sent to our print partner for printing). This typically covers the period while our team is preparing your book and before you approve the final preview.

Once a book has been sent to printing, it cannot be cancelled or changed, because production begins immediately and the item is uniquely personalized. To request a cancellation, email us as soon as possible at kate [at] @kosmickidsbooks [dot] .com with your order details, and we’ll let you know whether your book has entered printing.

Returns

Because each book is personalized with your child’s name and details and is made to order, our books are not eligible for return or refund for change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or ordering the wrong personalization details. Please review all details carefully before approving your preview.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

We stand behind the quality of our books. We will provide a free replacement or a full refund if your order arrives:

  • Damaged in transit;
  • With a manufacturing or printing defect (e.g., binding, print, or color errors); or
  • Incorrect due to our error (e.g., the personalization does not match what you approved).

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery at kate [at] @kosmickidsbooks [dot] .com with your order number and clear photos of the issue. We may ask for additional details to resolve it. You do not need to ship the damaged book back unless we request it, and we cover any costs for approved replacements.

What Is Not Covered

  • Errors in personalization details you provided and approved (names, dates, times, spelling).
  • Incorrect or undeliverable shipping addresses entered at checkout. If a package is returned to us due to an address error, you are responsible for reshipping costs.
  • Change-of-mind, buyer’s remorse, or no-longer-wanted orders after printing has begun.
  • Shipping delays caused by the carrier or customs (see our Shipping & Delivery Policy).

How Refunds Are Issued

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe. After we approve a refund, it typically appears within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

Email kate [at] @kosmickidsbooks [dot] .com with your order number and the reason for your request. We read every message and will respond promptly.
